However, having an orchid house plant does not end with letting the orchids stay there hanging, at one point in time you will need it to through orchid transplanting. This process is a delicate one and involves different steps that must be followed in order to have an effective transplantation process.
The ideal number of times that an orchid house plant can undergo orchid transplanting is only once. With this in mind, you really have to make sure that you do the process just right.
Orchid transplanting requires that you have to wait for the roots to grow and are larger than ½ of an inch. This is a very vital element that must not be disregarded if ever that you would go through with orchid transplanting. This principle does not only apply with orchids but even with regular plants as well. Isn’t it that people wait for the plants to grow a bit first before transplanting them to another area or to another pot? This is also the same with the orchid house plant. If they are prematurely transplanted without the proper growth of their roots, there is always a risk of breaking their stems which would end up having them die in the process.
You must also make sure that the orchids are soaked in the damp soil in the original pot. Soaking the orchid would keep the plant really strong and would also ensure you that the stems would not be breaking.
Before actually removing the plant out of the pot, lay the orchid on its side initially. Don’t deviate from this, it might cause the life of your plant. Do not rush as well because orchids need the proper handling. Now that you have laid the orchid house plant on its side, you can very gently pull the plant out. Always remember that your gardening gloves must be worn all the time while orchid transplanting. Any extra bark attached to the orchid must be washed also.
After gently removing the orchid from the original pot, you can now transplant it into a fresh pot. Add some new bark to the pot and you are now through with your orchid transplanting.
Always remember that orchid transplanting should not be prematurely done. Make sure that your orchid grows bigger first before you do it. Your orchid needs the proper care at all times.
